A naturopathic doula plays a supportive role throughout the prenatal, birthing and post natal period. They are not the same as a primary pregnancy care provider and do not deliver the babies. They support the mother emotionally and physically so that she can have the best experience possible with one of the most important chapters of her life. A naturopathic doula plan with me includes:
Three 1.5 hour appointments during pregnancy to prepare you for birth and to maintain proper health during your pregnancy
Building a Birth Plan that is best suited for your needs
Practicing comfort measures and birthing positions
Newborn Preparation
Phone, email and text support the moment of hire as well as 24/7 on call availability for active labour
Educating your partner on different ways to provide support that is best suited for both of you
I remain up to 2 hours after the birth of your baby to help with feeding your baby and making sure you are fed and comfortable yourself
2 post-partum visits to make sure both mama and baby are well settled and on the right path
A naturopathic doula is also equipped with all the naturopathic therapies available to naturopathic doctors, which are used when needed throughout the pre-natal, labour, delivery, and postpartum periods. The main role of a doula is to educate and support parents and child, in any way they need.
